Continuing education
program
We are proud to be a training and transforming group. That’s why we created SEA – Seagems Excellence Academy – our own training and development program, with strategy and material specially produced for the career of internal professionals.
Within SEA (Seagems Excellence Academy) are several professional improvement programs, such as ROV and Laying training and career development tracks, the merchant marine practitioner development program, leadership courses, Green Helmet program, succession plan, 90th and 180th Performance Evaluation, Training Matrices, Seagems Mentorship, competence mapping and On The Job Training.
Another example is the internal courses made available on eLearn (online platform) for our employees. For the most part, these are professional development and behavioral trainings. To make things easier, we have made dedicated tablets available for these courses on every ship and in every office. The idea is that employees will find it easy to access the platform during their free time to further enhance their knowledge.
Seagems has also developed its own teaching material to train and update professionals in the Offshore Line Laying market. All the knowledge available in our 40 published handbooks comes from the theoretical and practical experience of some of the most prominent names in the ROV and Line Laying fields, who are also part of the Seagems team. Our courseware is treated as valuable intellectual property and is copyrighted under ISBN(International Standard Book Number).
Training
Center
The SEA Training Center is a facility specially developed to train and improve our professionals. Located in Rio das Ostras, RJ, and with an area of 460 m², the environment houses four technical laboratories (hydraulic, electrical, electronics, and mechanics), a classroom and two powerful simulators (for Line Laying and ROV) .
It opened on January 15, 2015, TC has offered training and development courses to hundreds of professionals. The result of a robust investment by Sapura, the environment is one of the company’s most important initiatives within SEA.
Determined to be a reference, we get used to being pioneers. The Line Laying and ROV Operations courses taught at the SEA TC are examples of this. Valuing quality, we developed the world’s first line-laying operations simulator! Thus, the classes are composed of theoretical and practical classes, taught by our own employees, who have already become specialists.
Social Responsibility
To deal with issues related to the social and environmental spheres, we created the Seagems do Bem committee, a permanent corporate body with its own governance. The group is made up of volunteer and engaged employees who dedicate part of their time to developing internal awareness and donation campaigns, in addition to accompanying the incentive law projects supported by the company. The idea came from our constant challenge of generating internal and external incentive for social transformation, through impartiality and transparency in management.
The committee’s mission is to invest in culture, education and environmental preservation, with Social Projects and Campaigns that contribute to the construction of citizenship and promote awareness about the practice of “good” among Seagems’ employees. With this, we hope to become multipliers of ideas and actions aimed at transforming the societies in which we operate.
